South Asian Government Institutions Targeted by SideWinder Cyber Threat Group

High-level government institutions in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan have been targeted by a new campaign conducted by the SideWinder cyber threat group. The attackers used spear phishing emails associated with geolocated payloads to ensure that only victims in specific countries receive the malicious content. Researchers from Acronis, Santiago Pontiroli, Jozsef Gegeny, and Prakas, discovered this campaign.
