About 4 or 5 years ago, an IT employee discovered a security issue with TeamViewer Host installed on Sam4S POS cash register systems running Android. While using TeamViewer for remote access, instead of accessing the POS systems, the employee gained access to the personal Android phones of random individuals. This issue persisted despite several attempts to fix it, until a software update provided by the POS distributor finally resolved the problem a year later.
