KrebsOnSecurity has experienced a nearly record-breaking distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, reaching over 6.3 terabits of data per second. This brief attack appears to have been a test for a new IoT botnet capable of launching devastating digital assaults. The attack occurred last week and was carried out by a massive IoT botnet. Technical details include the use of trillions of bits of data to overwhelm the target. The potential impact is that few web destinations can withstand such an attack.
