New Forms of Espionage to Become Criminal Offenses in the Netherlands Starting May 15

Starting May 15, new forms of espionage, such as digital and diasporic espionage, will become criminal offenses in the Netherlands. A new criminal provision will be added to the Dutch Penal Code to protect national security, public safety, critical infrastructure, and other sensitive areas. This measure aims to strengthen protection against modern espionage threats.
