On May 27, 2025, authorities dismantled several popular counter-antivirus (CAV) services, including AvCheck, Cryptor, and Crypt.guru, used by vxers to test the evasion capabilities of malware. This international operation, led by the U.S. Department of Justice, targeted an online cybercrime syndicate providing encryption services to help malware evade detection. The encryption service sites were seized, disrupting the activities of cybercriminals.
