Student Pleads Guilty to Hacking Telecom Company and PowerSchool

Matthew Lane, a 19-year-old student at Assumption College, has pleaded guilty in a Worcester court to hacking an unnamed telecommunications company and an educational technology provider widely known as PowerSchool. Lane sent threatening emails to obtain payment for his extortion demands. He has been released on personal recognizance bond.
