Researchers from Acronis have reported that new variants of Chaos RAT have been used in attacks in 2025 against Linux and Windows systems. The TRU researchers from Acronis discovered these new variants of Chaos RAT targeting Linux and Windows during recent attacks. Initially observed in 2022, Chaos RAT evolved in 2024, with new samples appearing in 2025. TRU also discovered a critical vulnerability in an unspecified context.
