Texas DOT Investigates Breach of Crash Report Records, Sends Notification Letters

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced on Friday that a compromised account led to inappropriate downloads of a large number of crash report files. On May 12, TxDOT detected unusual activity in its Crash Records Information System (CRIS). A deeper investigation revealed that the activity originated from a compromised account. TxDOT has sent notification letters following this incident.
