A financially motivated hacker group known as UNC6040 is using a simple yet effective tactic to penetrate corporate systems by posing as IT support calls. These hackers are targeting companies like Google and Salesforce by using fraudulent phone calls to obtain sensitive information. The attackers pretend to be Google employees and ask victims to download malicious software, which allows them to access the internal systems of the companies. This method has enabled the hackers to compromise corporate systems and gain access to sensitive information.
