OpenAI has banned a set of ChatGPT accounts used by Russian-speaking threat actors and two state-sponsored Chinese hacker groups. These accounts were used to aid in the development of malware, automation of social networks, and research on American satellite communication technologies. The Russian-speaking actors used OpenAI's models to develop and refine their tools, while the Chinese groups exploited the platform for various malicious activities.
