ISC2 Report Highlights 2025 Cybersecurity Hiring Trends
The ISC2 report on 2025 cybersecurity hiring trends reveals that security managers prioritize practical experience and certifications over relevant education. Internships (55%) and apprenticeships (46%) are considered powerful tools for identifying and recruiting early-career cybersecurity talent. Although 58% of cybersecurity recruitment managers are concerned about attrition among entry-level and junior team members, the majority say they have the budget to invest in their professional development (75%) and to adequately staff their team (73%). About a quarter of cybersecurity recruitment managers who recruit from educational programs have identified entry-level and junior cybersecurity talent in programs outside of computer science, information technology, or cybersecurity.
