
Alleged Geisinger Hacker to Defend Himself in Court

Max Vance, accused of downloading protected information of more than 1.2 million patients from Geisinger Health System in 2023, will defend himself during his criminal trial. Judge Matthew W. Brann of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District accepted Vance's motion to proceed pro se but appointed Gerald A. Lord, assistant public defender, as standby counsel.
