Russia Expert Targeted by Sophisticated Spear Phishing Attack

Keir Giles, a British expert in Russian information operations and a member of the Chatham House think tank, was the target of a sophisticated spear phishing attack using innovative social engineering techniques. Giles was tricked into sending specific passwords for an application to someone posing as an employee of the U.S. Department of State. The attack exploited Google to obtain this sensitive information.
