Vera C. Rubin Observatory to Generate Massive Amounts of Data

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory telescope will generate a massive amount of data, approximately 60 million trillion bytes of images, transforming the study of stars and galaxies into a big data sorting exercise similar to that in genetics and particle physics. Scientists will need to manage this immense amount of data to advance their research.
