Canada has banned the operations of the Chinese surveillance company Hikvision within its territory due to national security concerns. Minister Mélanie Joly announced this decision after a security review revealed that the provider's activities could pose a threat. As a result, Hikvision must cease all its operations in Canada and its technologies are prohibited from use by the government.
