Massive Cyber Attack Deploys Spyware and Crypto Miners

A vast mass exploitation campaign has targeted over 4,000 ISP networks in China and on the west coast of the United States to deploy spyware and cryptocurrency miners. The Splunk Threat Research Team discovered this attack originating from Eastern Europe. Malicious actors are exploiting security vulnerabilities to compromise systems. The impacts include information theft and unauthorized use of system resources for cryptocurrency mining.
