French Police Arrest Russian Basketball Player Daniil Kasatkin on U.S. Ransomware Charges

French police have arrested Daniil Kasatkin, a Russian professional basketball player, at the request of the United States due to suspicions of ransomware activities. Kasatkin briefly played for Penn State University. This arrest marks the second in Europe this week related to cybercrime allegations at the behest of the United States.
