Description
In June 2020, the AI training data company Appen suffered a data breach that exposed the details of approximately 5.9 million users. The breach resulted in unauthorized access to user information including names, email addresses, and passwords stored as bcrypt hashes. Additionally, some records contained further sensitive data such as phone numbers, employer information, and IP addresses.
