In April 2021, PhoneHouse España experienced a ransomware attack which led to the exposure of substantial customer data. The attackers, associated with the Babuk ransomware group, leaked data including email addresses, names, nationalities, genders, dates of birth, phone numbers, and physical addresses involving 12.8 million records. This breach compromised sensitive personal information of many online customers of PhoneHouse España.
