Democratic Lawmakers Accuse DOGE of Leaving Government Agencies Vulnerable to Cyberattacks
A trio of Democratic lawmakers from the House of Representatives has sent a letter accusing the DOGE group of leaving several government agencies vulnerable to cyberattacks from foreign entities. According to the letter, DOGE has left publicly exposed entry points in government systems, which could allow malicious actors to exploit these vulnerabilities. The lawmakers, including Gerry Connolly and Melanie Stansbury, members of the House Oversight Committee, have expressed their concerns about the security of federal IT systems. The letter specifically mentions vulnerabilities within the Department of Government Efficiency and the Department of Treasury, as well as national laboratories such as Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
