Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) reported that malicious actors stole the personal data of 5.5 million patients during a cyberattack in early September. The attack compromised sensitive information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, medical information, and insurance card numbers. YNHHS stated that financial data was not affected. The incident was discovered on September 16 and reported to the relevant authorities. YNHHS has taken steps to secure its network and has hired cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident.
