
Applying User Experience Principles to Enhance Electoral Processes

The article discusses the application of user experience (UX) principles to the electoral process to improve voter engagement and satisfaction. It highlights that despite massive investments in voter mobilization, trust in democratic institutions and voter satisfaction have declined. The article proposes adopting a voter experience (VX) perspective to better understand and enhance voters' interaction with the electoral process. In 2020, a coalition of political technology developers created a volunteer experience program to improve canvassing and phone banking tools. The article suggests that this approach could transform the overall electoral experience and strengthen civic participation.
