The U.S. government has unveiled criminal charges against 16 individuals suspected of operating and selling DanaBot, a malicious software that steals information and has been active since 2018 on Russian cybercriminal forums. The FBI reports that a more recent version of DanaBot has been used for espionage. Several of the accused revealed their real identities after accidentally infecting their own systems with the malware.
