The national health information system of Tonga has been the target of a cyberattack, leading to a ransom demand from the hackers. A team of Australian cybersecurity experts traveled to Tonga this week to assist in managing the situation. According to the Minister of Health, Dr. ʻAna ʻAkauʻola, the system has been shut down and data is now being processed manually by staff.
